B&W Series: Train Stations

28 Mar 2010 - The photos in this post were taken on the same day as those in the previous post, "花痴系列:桜@小石川後楽園". Recently, I felt that my eyes and brain are too distracted by colors and I often miss out on other important aspects of photography, such as shapes, lines, lights and shadows. I need to train my eyes to focus on these, so I decided to shoot in monochrome as much as I can from now on.

Photos are taken in RAW, just in case I want back the color information.

After those shots, I walked to 小石川後楽園 for Sakura shots, in color.

After I had enough of Sakuras, I went back to the station to take subway to Ueno, to shop.

This was originally taken in B&W but I found the green quite cool, so I converted it back to color in Lightroom.

After shopping, it's time to go home. At Ueno station, I saw lotsa people crowding around this train...

Trains are important parts of the Japanese cultures. Old trains usually gather lots of attention from "train fans" and the media when they retire from use.

This is my first try in B&W and structural photography...still has lotsa room for improvement.
