Architecture:At the Helix Bridge, Singapore

5-6 June 2010 - I was back in Singapore for holiday from 4 to 6 June 2010 and on 5 June, I met up with Nicholas and gang to celebrate Nick's birthday and they brought me to the new Helix Bridge.

"The Helix Bridge (Chinese: 螺旋桥), previously known as the Double Helix Bridge (Chinese: 双螺旋桥), is a pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre with Marina South in the Marina Bay area in Singapore. It was officially opened on April 24, 2010 at 9 pm.[1] It is located beside the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and is accompanied by a vehicular bridge, known as the Bayfront Bridge." - wikipedia

I was amazed by Nick's captures of the bridge and had since wanted to visit the beautiful structure myself. So, I was very excited when Nick told me that we'd be going there.

What's my first impression of the bridge?
I was half excited and half disappointed. Excited because it was one of the most beautiful man-made structure I have ever seen and I was proud to be a citizen of the country who owns it. On the other hand, I was disappointed because the bridge was only 80% open and there were lots of construction work going on on the other end of the bridge. I just don't like construction sites to be in my landscape photos.

Just a boat nearby. I had to post process the color to make it look more interesting

We had limited time at the Helix because we had to celebrate Nick's birthday and that was our main purpose there, not photography.

I was free from appointments the next day, so I decided to go back there and shoot to my heart's content.

The shots of Helix I took the day before were all so cliche (they all look the same as Nick's), and so I thought that I needed to be creative and come out with something new.

That was the best I could do with my limited creativity.
